Step Team turns your daily step count into friendly competition. Join a 64-player tournament bracket, out-walk your opponent each day, and advance to the next round.

Each bracket has 64 players and six single-elimination rounds, Monday through Saturday. The higher step count wins each daily matchup, and six wins makes you the bracket champion.

Submit your completed step count for the previous day. Once both players submit, or the deadline passes, the matchup is decided and the winner advances.

Yes. Step Team is free to play, with no real-money wagering.

Step Team reads your completed step count from Apple Health with your permission. The app uses that total to score your matchup and never writes data back to Apple Health.

No. Your iPhone can count steps on its own, and Step Team also works with supported trackers that sync their step totals to Apple Health, including Apple Watch, Garmin, and WHOOP.

Submit by 9 PM Eastern. If you miss the deadline, that day's matchup counts as a forfeit.

The import option appears after the day you are submitting has fully ended and only if that day has not already been submitted. If you see “Nothing to submit yet,” check again after your local midnight.

No. Each completed day can be submitted once. Check that your tracker has synced to Apple Health before importing your total.

Weekly brackets play Monday through Saturday. Sunday is for choosing your next bracket.

Seeding uses each player's recent step average to create the bracket.

Enter a friend's invite code when you sign up. You and your friend each receive 30 in-app points.

Points are an in-app reward. They have no cash value and cannot be sold, transferred, or exchanged outside Step Team.

No. Invite points are for use inside Step Team only and cannot be cashed out.

Step Team reads step count and exercise-minute data from Apple Health with your permission. We do not sell health data or use it for advertising. Read the full Privacy Policy.

Make sure Step Team has Health permission on your iPhone and that your tracker has finished syncing to Apple Health. Then return to Step Team and try the import again.

Open the Profile tab and tap Delete Account. This permanently removes your account and associated data.
